Hanuman and Sita
- Hanuman = strong god
- wanted to approach Sita in secret
- Sita thought he was Ravana in a different form
- then found out it wasn't and was happy
- Hanuman offered to rescue her
- Sita refused to let any man except Rama touch her
- she gave Hanuman her bright hair jewel as a token of gratitude
Hanuman Captured
- rakshasis sent messages to Ravana requesting help
- mighty monkey (Hanuman) was destroying servants
- Jambumali = son of Prahasta - was sent to help
- took a bow in hand to resolve the conflict
- Jambumali injured Hanuman but Hanuman crushed him with a bolt
- Prince Aksha = host of heroic rakshasas
- Hanuman killed anyone in his way
- killed Prince Aksha, Indrajit, a million shafts, etc.
- Indrajit devised a way to kill Hanuman
- loosed a Brahma shaft at him
- rakshasas dragged Hanuman before Ravana
Ravana
- Hanuman answered that he came to Lanka to help Rama accomplish his tasks
- also said that he came to behold Ravana
- then told Ravana that he would need to release Sita to live
- Ravana was angry and wanted Hanuman killed asap
- counsellors told him not to rage on anger and punishment of death could be taken
- Ravana casted a fitting penalty on Hanuman
- Ravana set Hanuman's tail on fire.
The Burning of Lanka
- rakshasas soaked Hanuman's tail in oil and set it on fire
- Hanuman had something else up his sleeve
- Hanuman talked with the rakshasas to lead him about Lanka
- Sita was told that Hanuman was a spy and walked through the streets of Lanka as a spy
- the heat on his tail was chilled
- Hanuman jumped and started making the palace burn
- set the treasures, palace, everything on fire
- burnt Lanka to the ground
- slaughtered rakshasas
- stopped the fire by jumping into the sea
- went back to the Ashoka tree and saw Sita
- Hanuman foretold Sita that he would rescue her and slay the rakshasas
- reached Mahendra and the civilians all danced as they figured Hanuman saved Sita
- they brought fruits, roots, etc. for Hanuman to enjoy
March on Lanka
- Sugriva issued march orders toward the south to siege to Lanka
- Hanuman reported to Rama
- monkey army took off led by Sugriva and Rama
- Jambavan went along with many bears
- made camp at Mahendra across the beach on the shore
- covered all the shore
- Rama summoned a council
- council for crossing the ocean
- orders issued were that nobody should wander
- because of the rakshasas
Vibhishana
- demon king summoned a council of war
- warriors advised him to wage war
- Vibhishana, his younger brother didnt advise that
- he said to restore Sita to Rama and to make peace with Rama
- Ravana was angry at the response received from his brother
- Vibhishana was banished from rakshasa kingdom
- Vibhishana joined forces with Rama

Here is a picture of Ramayana versus the King of the Ocean. He is getting on their nerves by sending bows, bolts and darts to them setting off battle amongst the forces.
