Reading Notes : Mahabharata, Part B

The Pandava princes went into the forests that they were kicked to while Draupadi followed and joined them. Later, Yudhisthithira decided to join and then Surya joined the forest and fed them as they didn't have much to eat.

The Pandavas resided in the woods for the longest time and it was their twelfth year living there. The Pandu brothers were the grandsons of Vyasa and Vyasa was the author of Mahabarata.

Additionally, he came up with the Vedas and Brahma told Vyasa that Ganesha is the scribe and Ganesha put a requirement on this offer and said that he'll be a scribe when he is given the ability to be immortal and not ever die. Brahma passed up on this offer and told him to take another request.

That's when Ganesha asked for only if his pen was made continuous. Brahma agreed to that request and they both agreed and Vyasa introduced him to Vaishampayana who was his disciple.

Vaishampayana sacrificed a snake in order to take up this request and then took the snake's life and Janamejaya helped. Janamejaya is the king of Hastinapura and he is also the great grandson of Arjuna who is one of Pandu's five brothers. Pandu brothers are the grandsons of Vyasa.

Surya lived with his wives Dhaumya and Draupadi in the forest and they visited holy shrines often. The wives and Surya bathed in sacred waters any chance they got and did all the necessary devotions while dwelling in pleasant places.

They picked fruits and flowers every chance they got and ate only healthy fruits and foods so that they are able to grow healthier and live a healthier life. Ganga agreed to being Surya's wife only if he was good to her and not getting mad at everything that she did or says.

Ganga gave birth to her son and sent him to the Ganges river since she was not able to take care of him and she ended up killing seven children before the king spoke up and made her stop and got onto her for it.

Krishna returned to the kingdom later and Arjuna, one of the pandava brothers took austerity vows because he had promised to return to the kingdom.

Arjuna ended up leaving to the himalayas and his penance started to heat up as he continued and started morning worship and offered flowers to the little clay god that he keeps in his prayer rooms.

Arjuna didn't notice the commotion and ended up shooting arrows and hit the boar that was in the way. The huntsman was accompanied by the queen since it was protection while Arjuna wanted to duel for it.

They could not battle each other since their bows were getting swallowed and they decided to wrestle it out rather than actually fighting and shooting arrows and bows. This act ended up being worship rather than fighting since the Great God ended up giving Arjuna the divine bow.

This bow was something that all gods wanted to get and was the goal amongst all the immortals since it was only given to the best of the best.

Kirat ended up being the vision of Arjuna on Mahabharata since Mahadeva is the Great God who is referred to as Kirata. Kirata is also known as the huntsman and is in charge of everything relating to wartime and collecting the cavalry and the men to fight against.

Indra is the king of gods and Varuna is the god of the waters while Yama is the king of the dead. Kubera is the lord of the treasurers.

Arjuna gave gifts of weapons to all the gods and beheld the sea born apsaras. apsaras are the brides of the gods and the heroes who enjoy music loving gandharvas singing songs. They also took part in singing and dancing merrily around while listening to all this.

Arjuna was always eager for battle and the daityas and danavas quaked with terror while chanting mantras to the gandharvas. He shot clouds of bright arrows and then also send fire against the villans and sent water as well.

This picture depicts the god of gods who resorted to battle for every question that was asked. Arjuna ended up giving this god, Indra daityas and danavas since he ended up chanting mantras.
